An anesthesiologist being a perioperative physician assures the smooth sailing of the patient right from the preoperative period into the intra operative period and a smooth pain free recovery post operatively. Department of anesthesia, Pain and critical care medicine at our institute renders all services from preoperative care through intraoperative care to postoperative pain free recovery of the patient.
Vision: Department of anesthesia, Pain and Critical care medicine strives to produce perioperative physician who are not only expertise in patients during surgery but also postoperatively making smooth pain free postoperative course.

Mission: The faculty of the department are committed to provide outstanding educational experience in the course content of Anesthesia , Pain and Critical Care of surgical patients at undergraduate and postgraduate level to develop competent, confident, compassionate professional through a competency-based model of education in acquiescence with the direction of The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), The National Medical Council (NMC) and Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Maharashtra State. Taking care of the of perioperative surgical patients has continued to be at the center of our philosophy.
Services: The Department of Anesthesia at our Medical College offers complete perioperative care for every surgical patient. This includes appropriate Pre Anesthesia Evaluation, Intraoperative Care with the state of the art monitoring and very comfortable postoperative care with an emphasis on Pain relief, Early Mobilization and Rehabilitation. Department also extends its services post-surgical ICU as well as in medicine ICU in management of patients requiring ventilator support.
Our dedicated team of anesthesiologists, known for their expertise and commitment, are available round the clock and look after, Postoperative Wards and Intensive Care Unit, With a focus on utilizing cutting-edge technology and advanced techniques, we provide patient-centric anesthesia services.
Our Operation theatres are equipped with the state of the art Anesthesia Workstations, Multipara monitors, Infusion pumps, Body Warmers, Rapid blood transfusion systems, Depth of Anesthesia Monitoring. we ensure the highest level of safety and precision. The availability of Fiberoptic Bronchoscope, Video Laryngoscope and Airway gadgets aids us in doing complex cases with upper airway challenges .We maximize utilization of monitoring tools to closely monitor patients' vital functions during surgery simultaneously our expertise remain vigilant looking after clinical monitoring.
Education: We use learner-centered teaching and learning strategies which include Small group discussions, critical thinking, Self-directed learning, Problem based learning, seminars, case discussions and Journal club. We prioritize students’ academic excellence along with practical demo sessions on available mannequins. Department is committed for academic excellence of not only postgraduate students but also interns. Department is regularly conducting ALS and BLS workshops for interns as well as for residents of our and other department, nursing students and staff nurses. Department is conducting regular postgraduate activities three to four times a week.
Research: The Department encourages students in the domain of research and has guided and supervised various research projects. The faculty is also involved in various research project trying to encourage residents to implement newer thing happening globally as well as to remain updated of newer techniques.. All the faculty members are well versed in designing and conducting of various research studies including PG Dissertation-Methodology and Data analysis. Presently department is conducting four research projects.
Facilities: Department is well equipped with modern anesthesia workstations, multipara monitors, Infusion pumps, Body Warmers, Rapid blood transfusion systems, Depth of Anesthesia Monitoring, ultra sound machine (for USG Guided regional anesthesia technique as well as bedside ECHO) and various other devices that matches global standard of anesthesia services. The availability of Fiberoptic Bronchoscope, Video Laryngoscope and Airway gadgets aids us in doing complex cases with upper airway challenges.
Department also has seminar room and dedicated library with multiple standard anesthesia textbooks as well as subscription of reputed anesthesia journals.
